I'm Sick…What Do I Do?

There is a ton of CRUD going around right now from the Flu to stomach bugs and even just the common cold. The good news is, our bodies were designed to heal and our immune systems are meant to fight invaders, but that means we need to give them a good foundation to work from. Your immune system works for you 24/7. Are you giving it enough support?

Having the right tools that enhance your natural immune system definitely helps + using proactive measures to make sure our bodies are ready to respond, is imperative for a healthy immune response.

I am sharing tried and true recipes that will help to keep your immune system in check AND if you do end up under the weather (which happens to all of us)  these tools that will help to speed up the recovery process.

Remember, washing hands, eating nutrient rich food, consuming bioavailable supplementation, getting fresh air and good rest as well as reducing stress & getting daily exercise go a long way! If you are here, I don’t really need to remind you that I’m not a doctor and don’t pretend to be. I do however want to share natural wellness solutions that have worked for our family and thousands of clients over the years. Always remember, these products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Essential oils, used properly can beautifully support a healthy immune system and healthy immune response. (That's the legal stuff.)

What if you had 16 easy tools to help your body defend, recover and thrive? Let’s break it down. 

  1. Get your Diffuser ready with OnGuard and Breathe Essential Oil - This will help clean not only the air, but it will help support a healthy immune response and open up airways for clear breathing. (Quick tip: add one drop of Breathe in the palm of your hands, rub them together. Cup your right hand over your left palm to make a funnel and breathe in from the funnel to help open up the lungs.) (Other oils to support the respiratory system: Peppermint, Cardamom, Thyme, Lemon, Eucalyptus, AromaTouch because choices are good.)  
  2. Do you have this simple DIY FLOOT Plus Roller Bottle ready?  (Frankincense, Lemon, OnGuard, Oregano, Tea Tree Plus I like to add Copaiba). This can be made into a roller and applied every 2-3 hours on feet and spine when you are feeling ill. It should also be applied 1-2x daily to proactively keep your immune system supported.
    • Adults - 5 drops of each essential oil (Total of 25-30 drops) and fill the rest with carrier oil in a 10ml roller.
    • Kids - 1-2 drops of essential oil (Total of 10-12 drops) and fill rest with carrier oil in a 10 ml roller.
  3. OnGuard + Protective blend Softgels. A medicine cabinet must-have (and my #1 go-to winter wellness product!) These contain OnGuard, PLUS Oregano, Black Pepper & Melissa essential oils -this is powerhouse immune support! You can take them proactively and also increase when under the weather. (For the kids, you can also pop these open and apply to soles of the feet rather than take internally.) The OnGuard beadlets are a great alternative for kids too (they are 1/4 of one drop of essential oil.) For Adults, you can also create an immune bomb capsule by using your immune support oils and take them internally in a veggie cap. ALWAYS read the label for supplemental facts to make sure you can take it internally. A go-to of mine is 1 drop each: Frank, Thyme, OnGuard, Melissa, Black or Pink Pepper & Oregano. If Internal isn't your thing, topical & aromatic are very beneficial and again, choices are important.
  4. HYDRATION IS KEY. MetaPWR Recharge Electrolytes. Recharge offers a unique one-to-three ratio of sodium to potassium, ensuring optimal hydration for anyone. It improves cellular hydration, facilitates water transport between cells, provides balanced ratios of six key electrolytes, includes over 80 deep-ocean minerals, and is free from GMOs, gluten, dairy, preservatives, and artificial ingredients. Also, don't forget to add 1-2 drops of your citrus oils into your H20 throughout the day. This is great for gently cleansing the body system. (Stainless steel, aluminum or glass water bottles only.)  
  5. Immunitea - Hot tea with honey + 1 drop Lemon & 1 drop OnGuard. You can also drop an OnGuard soothing protective throat drop into hot water and sip.  
  6. OnGuard Chewables for the whole family. These should be taken proactively and increased if you are needing extra immune support. They contain Vitamin C, Vitamin D & Zinc.  
  7. Peppermint for fever & headaches. Peppermint with carrier oil down the spine and on the base of the neck as needed to help bring down internal body temperature. You can also increase the effectiveness by applying a cool wet rag afterwards. Deep Blue Rub & Deep Blue Stick + Copaiba are also wonderful tools to help ease severe head tension.  
  8. Epsom salt bath with Lavender & Frank. Luke Warm bath with epsom salt + 2 drops of Lavender & Frankincense. Helps with body aches & stress. Two main ingredients in epsom salt are magnesium and sulfate. The combo of both stimulates detoxification pathways. (If you are looking for more Detoxification, add in 1-2 drops of Zendocrine detoxification blend.)  
  9. Soothe a sore throat. Gargle 1 drop Tea Tree in a shot glass of warm water and apply tea tree with carrier oil on the outside of the throat. You can also use the OnGuard throat drops.  
  10. DigestZen for Tummy ache. DigestZen digestive blend with carrier oil rubbed onto belly as needed. Inhale out of the bottle to help with nausea. DigestTabs (natural TUMS) work wonders as well to help with gas relief + Digestive Lemon/Ginger throat drops are a beautiful support for upset tummy as well.
  11. Steam Mug to open airways, clear congestion and support that nagging cough. This is a fan favorite. While you are waiting for a ½ cup of water to boil,  add 1 drop each: Peppermint, Oregano, Lemon, Tea Tree in your favorite coffee mug.  Pour the water into that mug and simply inhale the steam. Be sure to close your eyes as the aroma is very powerful. (For the kids, you can leave out the Oregano to make the aroma less intense.) Don’t forget that the Breathe Respiratory Throat Drops work beautifully to clear a stuffy nose too. 
  12. Mental health matters. Fear is proven to lower the immune system. Remember your immune system is built to fight. Adaptiv Calming Blend softgels use GABA, Sceletium Root & Ahiflower, to help quiet your mind beautifully and naturally.  
  13. VMG+ & Gut Health. Symphony of the Cells  
If you want to up your game, let me introduce you to Symphony of the Cells protocols. I highly suggest the book by Boyd K. Truman called Symphony of the Cells. It's a simple and effective approach for applying essential oils to create balance and harmony within the body. We use these protocols A LOT. (2-3x per week as needed when symptoms are presented or 2x per month proactively.)  

You begin with the individual lying face down with their back & bottoms of feet exposed. Let the 1-2 drops of oil drop out of the bottle. (Do not add water to essential oils unless you want to intensify the effects.)  

Apply the oils step by step in a circular, clockwise motion from the lower back to the base of the skull. Apply each oil layering separately to spine/feet rubbing in for a few seconds before applying the next step.
